Joint Secretary of Agriculture Ministry Visits Gayaji, Applauds Bihar’s Agri-Tech Startups

The Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare visited Gayaji to interact with agricultural startups at the SABAGRIs Incubation Centre, established by Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour.

During the visit, the official examined technological solutions, innovations, and practical models developed by the startups for farmers. He noted that these innovations emerging from Bihar could play a transformative role not only for the state but for the entire agricultural sector in India.
Particular praise was given to Gotway Technologies, founded by Apoorv Singh, for providing affordable and modern technology that can reduce agricultural production costs, improve productivity, and help farmers become self-reliant. He commented:

“Such innovations in the agricultural sector are extremely important for India’s food security and the prosperity of farmers. I am happy that startups of this level are emerging from Bihar, which can change the direction and condition of the country’s agriculture in the coming times.”

The official encouraged the entrepreneurs to expand their services beyond Bihar, enabling farmers across India to benefit from these technological solutions. He also highlighted SABAGRIs as a strong platform for delivering technology-based solutions to farming challenges, suggesting that the model could be replicated nationally.

Vice Chancellor D.R. Singh expressed pride in the university’s achievements, saying the recognition at the national level opens new possibilities for farmers. Director of Research Anil Kumar Singh added that the centre helps bring research and innovation directly to farmers, and the visit provided inspiration and guidance for further efforts.
